Besides living 'til 96 my eyes almost popped out of my head when I read that he swam from Alcatraz to San Fran... TWICE! On the 2nd attempt he was handcuffed, shackled and towed a 1000 lb. boat. If that is not proof of 'mind over matter' or 'where there's a will, there's a way', or.... ok I'll stop, but REALLY- amazing! More crazy LaLanne stuff here.
Paul and I rented Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead (a documentary by @JoetheJuicer who was once tipping the scale at 310 lbs., but turns his life and TOTAL HEALTH around with a juicer and a spirit to explore outside of 'down under') this week and were glued to the screen. If you haven't seen it, DO SO NOW. No, really. Stop reading and log on to NetFlix. So... after watching it we looked at each other and were like, 'we should totally try that!'
A couple more conversations and our minds were set. 7 days, nothing but juice and faith. He'll doing 15 and keeping a video blog which I'll share soon!
During a traffic detour I accidentally put myself in front of a farmers market with 8 minutes to spare before closing! What luck! I snagged at least 10 pounds of LOCALLY grown, healthy greens (and oranges and reds) for only $11. (Maybe we WILL go to Vegas soon!)
When I climbed up the stairs towing the $100 juicer and the most veggies our fridge has seen at once, Paul's eyes lit up! We jumped in the kitchen, washed up and let the fun begin. We each had a 12oz. juice containing...
- 1 Head of Romaine Lettuce
- 2 Turnips
- 2 Carrots
- 1 Apple

Paul and I will weigh ourselves tomorrow and flesh out the 'game plan' as we go. For now, Day 1 of 7 begins manana...
That's a good looking drink.
